Kate Shepard House
10" x 8" 200 In Edition

This beautiful Victorian-Queen Anne style house was owned by Charles Martin Shepard, who associated himself with the Armor Commission Company and was the General Passenger Agent for the Mobile and Ohio Railroad in Mobile.  His daughters, Kate and Isabel, conducted their private school in the home for a number of years.  In 1974 the house was sold to Mrs. Lee E. McCoy.  The new owner dubbed the house "Monterey", and for several years it was opened to the public.  Subsequently, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Brown purchased the home for their residence, and it was one of the homes featured in the 1982 Historic Homes Tours.
