Bienville Square
10" x 8" 200 In Edition

Here is a typical scene portrayed no doubt hundreds of times in Bienville Square in the 1890's.  The park was virtually the hub of all out-of-doors celebrations and activities for both young and old in the downtown area.  Concerts were given not infrequently under the towering oaks.  Politicians bellowed their soon to be forgotten orations, and pigeons flocked upon the ground, much as they do today, for morsels of bread and nuts.  Notice the conventional street attire worn while in public in those days.
